LapLink Inc., the leading Internet file-transfer and synchronization software developer, today announced Crossport Systems, Inc., a provider of security solutions for small and medium businesses, will partner to offer LapLink customers a free trial version of Pivio© Anti-Virus software. Pivio Anti-Virus is one component of a complete, affordable security system from Crossport. The Pivio system includes a VPN/Firewall appliance bundled with Intrusion Detection and Monitoring Services. Pivio is specifically designed for offices with DSL and cable Internet connections.
Pivio Anti-Virus software uses advanced "polite-push" technology to automatically download the latest virus signature files without user intervention. This technology is commonly available at the enterprise-level but has only recently been offered to the SOHO and small business marketplace. "With Code Red, Nimda, and other viruses in the headlines today, no business can afford to be without an anti-virus solution that is constantly updated," says Rob Arnold, Chairman and CEO of Crossport Systems. LapLink Gold v11.0 users will have the option of installing Pivio Anti-Virus free for 60 days.
LapLink and Crossport Systems will engage in joint marketing efforts to expand their messages and reach to the consumer and small business marketplaces. "Pivio is a tremendous value-add: our customers will greatly benefit from the anti-virus protection product," says Mark Eppley, LapLink"s founder and CEO. "In today"s world, a secure network delivers peace of mind."
