Laplink Software Inc. and Tokyo-based AOS Technologies today announced they have partnered to bring Laplink?s PCmover software to Japan. The award-winning PCmover makes it easy for users to transfer the look, usability and personality of an old PC to a new one.
AOS Technologies is a pioneer in developing products and services for data storage, IP voice and video, and ubiquitous networking applications.

PCmover is popular among home and business users alike because it transfers not only files, but entire programs and related settings, saving PC users hours of work reinstalling, re-registering, and reconfiguring their applications when they buy a new PC. PCmover moves files of any size and type, as well as network, browser, firewall, and security settings.
Laplink currently sells PCmover in retailers throughout Europe, North America, South America, and now Japan, as well as online at www.laplink.com. Available languages include: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese.
According to data released on June 13, 2006 in IDC?s Worldwide Quarterly PC Tracker, shipments of PCs to Japan continue to exceed analysts? growth projections, creating an excellent market for Laplink?s PCmover.

The product is marketed as Final Pasokon Hikkoshi 2006 PRO priced at 5,500 yen (about US$48) for the downloadable version. Suggested retail price for the boxed product is 6,800 yen (about US$59) and includes a Laplink 2.0 USB cable.
